General Description
That’s it! Today we finish the flat parts and go up the mountains.
From Bad Toelz we go south into a promenade along the Isar, there are no marking but you can’t go wrong. After about 10 KM we turn west, there are 2 options:
Acorrding to the book you should keep going south until you reach the village Lenggries, and from there start the climb west. We, on the other hand, planned to start the climb sooner, from the village Arzbach and that is what we have done (the marking numbers above reflect this choice).
The beginning of the climb is on a wide and steep path. Afterwards (that’s after our mistake) we entered a narrow mountain path. Eventually the path joined with the via alpina and from there we were left with a short walk to the first hut of the trail!
For those of you who want to begin the climb at Lenngries – the marking is the via alpine for the entire climb.
