General Description
Don’t let the low number of kilometers deceive you, this is not a simple day.
Today we climb to the summit - Birkkarspitze and from there descend (and climb some more) to the Hallerangerhaus
Unfortunately I can’t provide more details on this day because a day before this one we decided that we need to see a doctor (one of us had an injury that required it). So instead of going up the Birkkarspitze we descended 20 kilometers to the town Scharnitz in the valley and from there took a train to Innsbruck (where there is a hospital). Luckily for us the injury was not serious and only required a 2 day rest. But we did miss this day and the day after it.
The data above is for those who do climb the Birkkarspitze. It should be noted that those who start the trail early (June – start of July) are risking being unable to do this day climb because snow/ice leftover.
