General Description

Today was a really fun day (in a little twisted definition of “fun”). It is a day of many ups and downs, with a lake in the middle of the day and presumably a nice view. Only thing is, we walked in a day full of rain and fog so we saw little of those view. In the words of Ronlad: “Evil weather, evil”.

We set from the Lizumer Huette on path 323 and climb to the first mountain pass of the day - Geierjoch (2743), right after it we pass by the lake Junssee. From there we descend a bit and then start another climb to the second mountain pass of the day – Gschuetzspitzsattel (2657).

After the Gschuetzspitzsattel we descend again to the height of 2000 meters, and from there start a moderate climb to the Tuxer-Joch-Haus (2316).

Few words about the terrain: Some of it is rocky, some is plain earthly ground (or in our case, mud). When we walked this day there were still fields of snow, we either had to walk around or just cross them.

All in all, despite the bad visibility it was a really nice day, good combination of ups and downs.

Sleeping: Tuxer-Joch-Haus of the Austrian Alpine Club. A really nice place to stay in.
